The Caesarean Support Network offers support and advice to women who have had or may need a caesarean delivery. The Network can also offer advice and support to women who wish to have a vaginal delivery with future pregnancies. The Network has the following aims.

  • Education and information on all matters relating to caesarean delivery.

  • A network of contacts who can offer one-to-one counselling.

  • Help new groups become established.

  • Answer correspondence from mums to be, newly delivered mothers and mothers, who although they delivered some years ago, may still have difficulties coming to terms with their caesarean.

  • A national directory of caesarean support groups and contacts.

  • Provide information for caesarean mothers who hope to have a vaginal delivery with their future pregnancies.

Publications produced by the group include: Birth the Caesarean Way (booklet); Directory of Support Groups and Contacts; and the following factsheets: Exercises following a caesarean delivery, Home Helps, Book List, Breast Feeding, Emotional Difficulites.
